A Desert Love Letter

There is not much more beautiful than a desert sunset.

The purple haze, a turquoise tint and a hot pink center. Blue-gray mountains setting a foundation so firm you are sure the beauty of it will never disintegrate. But every night, the sun fades down and the mountains lose their grip. They can't hold on to the beauty of the sky and well, that is just sad.

Yet, if there is anything I've learned about loving the desert it is that, it's not always beautiful.

It can be hard-as-stone, rough and ragged, or just plain sand. But... the moment you look up to the horizon, you see it. The relationship between he rocks and rills flourishing into a lava molten sky and you know what that is?

Love.

All the love you cannot hold, sitting before you, tugging at your heart strings and making you think, how on earth did I get so lucky?
