Letter From Hermana DeLong July 23, 2012

Well guess what?!?! We found 2 families this week! It was amazing!! So on P-Day after I emailed you we went out to area 6 to find some people. We went to a house that hadn't been visited in a while and we found out the guy who lived there moved. So we asked them if we could teach them and we went in and they were really nice. They had been talking to some JW's (Jehovas Witnesses) but he said that they didn't like him because he asked too many questions. We told him he could ask all the questions that he wanted and we answered one of his questions right then! It was awesome. BUT the only thing is, the phone number they gave us isn't right. So we are going to go back and see them again this week. If they read the Book of Mormon they will be baptized for sure. The next family is super exciting! We met this family their name is Cuatule. (Last name) We went over to their house and the little girl went in to see if their Dad was available to come talk to us and she said that he couldn't. Then he showed up at the door and invited us in and we talked to them about Faith. They are Christian and they don't go to church right now. But they were totally open to our message. So we came back on Saturday and taught them with the Relief Socitey president from our ward. Hermana Bonilla. We taught them about the Restoration and watched the restoration video. After we asked them if they would be baptized and they said yes! They have a date set for August 19th!! We are so excited. There are 5 kids. 4 over the age of 8 and the parents. There is Rosio and Valentin - The mom and Dad. Nili, Noeli, Aaron, Marlene and Gustavo. Gustavo is 1 month old and he is actually sick right now. He has an infection of some sort in his stomach. They were planning on coming to Church yesterday but they had to take Gustavo to the Hospital and they didn't get back until 5 in the morning. But Rosio called us and apologized and wanted to meet with us during the week and go to church on Sunday. So it's a huge miracle. We are really excited to have a family to teach. They are all super sweet and loving.

Other things I did this week. We went to a pakistanian place and had pakistanian treats. They were super yummy. We had a service project and it was fun. We raked leaves all morning because it's like fall everyday here. We also made our own vegetable soup. It was okay... Sister Gray put an entire jalapeno in it. So it was super spicy. She says it's not "too spicy" but it totally was. Oh well, I still ate it. We also had deep cleaning and we stayed in all day on Wednesday and cleaned our apartment. After we got back from Service. We do service at this place called Prospect Park and we just pulled weeds and poured mulch all morning it was fun.

I don't know what else to say.

Missionary work is hard. It's all about change and repentance. We have to change who we are to be able to return to the presence of God. it's a big job. Because I'm no where near perfect. I'm trying to not be hard on myself. But I want to be the best that I can be. So it's hard to balance. I think things will be better this week. It was a good week in that we found people and committed people but it's been hard just myself. trying to figure things out.

Love you all! Please write me okay!
