Favorite Things of Christmas

We all have traditions and fun things that we do during the Holiday's. The past few years, our traditions seemed to have disappeared, but this year we are bringing some of them back. Like, our huge family dinner. We are having it at our house this year, there will be over 30 people there! That's a lot! I'm pretty excited for it, let's just hope that I don't have to work until 8 that night. HOPE AND PRAY!

My Favorite Things of Christmas

1. Decorating the Christmas tree. This year, my Mom told me we weren't having a Christmas tree, just like last year. I was totally bummed, to say the least. But last year my sister Jordan bought me a little 3 foot tree that I decorated and put by my room. So, I busted it out and decorated it with my nephew Carter. It's a kid's tree for sure. So, as I was sulking about thinking we weren't going to have a big tree, my Mom and Dad decided to host Christmas Eve dinner at our house. Which meant, CHRISTMAS TREE! We got a pretty 6 foot tree and decorated it all Red and Gold. Oh, and guess what? My Mom said I could have it when I move out! (Whenever that is. baha) Isn't that awesome? Oh, it's fake bytheway.

2. Making Sugar Cookies. I love to make sugar cookies, and eat them all before Christmas is even here. We didn't make any this year, but I made enough treats to cover for them. My sister Emily made some though, and they were BOMB. I ate the whole plate myself. Yes, I'm a fatty.

3. Christmas Eve Dinner. When I was a kid, this dinner was a whole lot more magical. I think it's because all my cousins were young too, and we got to open a bunch of presents. Like seriously, a BUNCH. My dad has seven brother's and sister's. It was really awesome. Now-a-day's we have kind of drifted apart, and that's a lot of money to spend.. so we don't really do gifts. We do, however have a big fancy dinner together and get all dressed up. I'm really excited to wear my new sweater this year! Sooo cute! We are having homemade spaghetti and meatballs! YUM.

4. Christmas Lights. I love the people who still cover their entire house in Christmas light's. They are my favorite people ever. I think Christmas light's are so magical, and they bring back very fond memories of my childhood, which I love. There is a house in my area that the light's on the house blink to the music on a Christmas Radio station. So you can sit in your car and watch. It's AMAZEBALLS!

5. Besides all of these great and amazing things that make Christmas, Christmas. My very favorite part of Christmas is this (please read it all):

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
