Burns

Have you ever felt the heat of the fire on your face? Felt the smoke season your face and run across your eyelids. Had the scent of a campfire embrace your hair and make you feel like you were the only thing alive. The only thing breathing... Then the oxygen starts to fade and the space around you is getting smaller and smaller, you start to fade... Step back. Something whispers in your ear loud enough so that only you can hear. You step back into penetrating night and feel the cool air hit your face, it become easier to breathe and you feel so free. Yet, you still have your eyes locked on the burning flames the smoldering coals and the rough wooden pieces. Don't you dare blink. Live within this moment, it is one of the best you can ever have. It is the moment when things make sense, when you can feel the difference between melting and being a fixed frame. Where you can discern between good and evil, hot and cold, rich and poor, mercy and intolerance. Let your thoughts run wild, take a moment to look at everything you want to leave behind and then feel that cool night breeze wash over you like being born again. Hope, breathe, and concentrate.

Feel the fire burn.
Take refuge in the night.
Be grateful for this state of mind.
