Hot Piece of MESS

I don't have a certain style. I don't dress bohemian, or preppy, or any kind of genre. I barely have enough clothes to make 6 top-notch outfits. This came to my mind today as I stepped out of the door in my Target t-shirt, branding myself LONDON and my 3 dollar jeans from the DI. I slipped on my red crocs because Carlie still has my light blue ones that would normally match. My hair is half up in a black clip, even though I am wearing a BROWN belt. SHOCK, INSANITY, YES I KNOW.

I more often the not, don't wear makeup. A little mascara goes a long way, or so they say. Sometimes I don't even do that. So I am lookin' a mess. Like normal. I am thinking to myself. SHELBY you need a style. You need something to set you apart from everyone else.

Then I thought. You already have it. Some girls get ready everyday, wear their chic attire and their satin red lipstick. Some girls rock 40,000 rings on every finger, or just that stratigically placed thumb ring. (which I adore by the way.) Some girls have American Eagle and Abercrombie to thank for their hawt looks. Some girls can pull of the Hot Topic look, or even the SURFER/SKATER, I love brand names look (like my awesome sister who is a brand nameaholic, everything volcom and billabong.) YOU. You have this look that makes people wonder where on earth did she get those pants, and dude, I totally saw that T-Shirt at Target the other day.

OH and let me just say, I am SO thankful to be able to not wear make up somedays. As much as I love all of you, and this is the cold hard truth, some of you look like a completely different person without it on. I feel I look much the same, with or without. (i'm not saying ALL of you, just SOME of you) BUT hey, you look good with make up on. REALLY. You are seriously beautiful and I wish I could pull of your look so much. I love the way you are. I'm just sayin... I love the way I am too. Even if I do look like a "hot piece of mess."
