Hiking Lone Mountain

Today I took my second cousin Morgan and we hiked up Lone Mountain. The hike is about a mile long Round trip, I'm pretty sure. So it wasn't insanely hard. It is just really rocky. This hike is nice because it is right in the middle of the area I live in. Well, it is surrounded by houses now that the Centennial Hills area is a lot bigger. Here are some pictures from today! This is Morgan at the very very top. If you live in Las Vegas, behind him you can kind of see the RedRock Casino in the distance.... WAY far out there. :D

This is Morgan in a cave that we found right at the start of the trail. It was gross inside...

So the whole time we were walking up there, Morgan noticed that there was graffiti everywhere. He starts talking about how dumb it is, and he finally says.. "This is supposed to be an enjoyable place, and people who write all over it are stupid." The kid has some serious wisdom. On our way back down the mountain he said " Doesn't it just feel calm here?" He was right. If you tuned out the bustling freeway/highway behind you it really was calm. The funniest thing I think I heard him say all day was as he was climbing up the mountain he screamed... "COME ON LEGS!!! WE ARE GOING UP THIS MOUNTAIN! YOU AREN'T THE BOSS OF ME!!!!" I laughed so hard inside.

Here is a video of us when we got to the top. I wasn't really sure what to say when I handed him the camera. haha so I look pretty ridiculous. Sorry I wasn't more modest either. I figured I would rather have a tank-top tan line then a t-shirt tan line!!!
